St. Pancras Hotel, Restored

The wonderful Victorian hotel at the St. Pancras railroad station in London has been restored and re-opened. The hotel was closed in 1935 and the building was damaged during the Blitz, but preservationists kept the building from being demolished. The leader of the preservation campaign was Poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman, and now there is a statue of him on the site. Rightfully so, if you ask me, since we seem incapable of building anything this beautiful today.
